Gonzalo Pizarro was a Spanish conqueror, younger paternal brother of Francisco Pizarro and one of the main actors of the Conquest of Peru and of civil wars between the conquerors. Headed the Great Rebellion of Encomenderos of 1544 against the Spanish crown, in protest at the giving of the New Laws.
