An trip to El Escorial is a mandatory family plan. The streets and squares of the town, with open spaces where trees and fountains intermingle to enjoy a pleasant walk, offer us the possibility of visiting one of the most important monumental and historical complexes in Spain.
The Pantheon of Kings occupies a circular chapel located below the presbytery, decorated with marbles and golden bronzes. There the monarchs and the mother queens of the kings rest, from Carlos I to the present, with the exceptions of Felipe V and Fernando VI, who rest in their respective foundations: La Granja de San Ildefonso, and the Royal Sales in Madrid (Church from Santa Barbara). The remains of the other people of the Royal Family are found in the Pantheon of Infants.
The heritage from an Empire only 50 km away from here!
